Jim has a long history of service to Northern Oakland County as a business and community leader. He is the owner of Jim Tedder Productions and an administrator with Clarkston Community Schools.
He is married to Nancy (his wonderful wife of seven years) and has three school-aged children. Jim was raised, and still resides, in the Clarkston area, a community he has served as a school teacher and administrator since 2005. Jim also maintains many family and business ties in the Waterford community, where he purchased his first home and resided there for ten years; he remains a property owner and business leader there.
As a businessman Jim has served the community as a member of the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce for over 10 years and as a Lecturer to graduate business students through the Department of Marketing and Management at Oakland University. Jim has also served as a youth mentor through Clarkston Area Youth Assistance, Cubmaster to a local Cub Scouts pack and as a youth and middle school wrestling Coach.
Jim graduated from Central Michigan with an Applied Arts degree, double majoring in Political Science and Broadcast and Cinematic Arts. He also holds the degrees of Master of Business Administration and Education Specialist, both from Oakland University. Jim has also enjoyed the rewards and challenges of self-employment. In the past, he has also analyzed business and labor policy through his work for Associated Builders and Contractors and the National Association of Home Builder’s, both in Washington, DC.
